# Placing Orders

> How reps and buyers place orders, and how brands review draft orders.

<Note>
**Who this is for:** Brand users, reps, and account (buyer) users when **order placement** is enabled for your brand. Buyers place orders for their own account; reps place orders on behalf of assigned accounts.
</Note>

Keystone supports wholesale ordering through catalogs, CSV upload, and suggested reorder flows. Orders move from draft to sales order as they are reviewed and submitted to your brand's backend (Shopify, ERP, etc.).

## Ordering in the sidebar

When ordering is enabled, the **Ordering** group includes:

| Page | Who uses it | Purpose |
| -------------------- | ----------------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| **Place an Order** | Brand, rep, buyer | Browse the catalog and build a cart |
| **CSV Upload** | Brand, rep, buyer | Upload a spreadsheet of SKUs and quantities |
| **ATS** | Brand, rep | Check available-to-sell quantities |
| **Suggested Orders** | Brand, rep, buyer | Reorder based on purchase history |
| **PO Upload** | Brand only | Upload purchase orders from buyers |

If ordering is disabled, only **ATS** appears as a standalone link.

## Placing an order (catalog)

1. Go to **Ordering → Place an Order**.
2. Select the customer account (reps choose from assigned accounts; buyers see their own).
3. Browse products, set quantities, and add items to the cart.
4. Choose ship-to address, ship window, and any required fields.
5. Submit the order or save as a draft.

Saved drafts appear under **Transactions → Draft Orders**.

## Draft orders and order processing

Submitted orders that need brand review land in **Transactions → Order Processing** (also called the pending-orders queue).

Brand users and reps can:

* Search and filter by status, rep, and date range
* Open an order to review line items, pricing, and ship-to details
* Approve, edit, or reject the order
* Convert approved orders into sales orders in your connected system

## After an order is placed

Track fulfillment under **Transactions**:

| Page | What it shows |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| **Sales Orders** | Confirmed orders and their fulfillment status |
| **Invoices** | Billed amounts and payment status |
| **Shipments** | Tracking and delivery information |
| **Returns** | Return requests and credits |

Sales order statuses include **Processing**, **Partially Fulfilled**, **Shipped**, **Closed**, and **Cancelled**.

## Minimum order requirements

Brand administrators configure order minimums under **Settings → Order Settings → General**. See [Order settings](/settings/order-settings) for price levels, shipping, and visibility options.

## Public catalog ordering

Reps and brand users can share a published catalog link. Buyers who receive the link can browse and place orders without signing in to Keystone. See [Catalog Creator](/features/catalog-creator).
